Clothing:

Dress WARMLY. Even on the sunniest days, it is still chilly on the water. It’s best to wear layers, including a water and wind-proof layer. Sunglasses, gloves, and hats that won’t blow off are also recommended. Please wear non-marking shoes if you have them.

Don’t worry about over-preparing. There’s plenty of space to stow your extra gear.

Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs/lifejackets) will be provided and are required for your safety.

Food and Drink:

Bring snacks! Even if you’ve just eaten, it is nice to share a bite with everyone as we cruise.

What to bring? Anything that’s easy to pass around and share. Here are some ideas:

Sushi, pastries, charcuterie, deli meats, fruit and berries, vegetable trays, nuts, brownies

Drinks: BYOB. Wine is perfect for sailing. Some folks bring cocktails, juice, soda, and/or sparkling water. Again, think of something that is fun and nice to pass around.

We have plastic wineglasses, a serving tray, and a cutting board onboard if you need it.

Other Things to Know:

There is a bathroom on Feral! A proper marine ‘head’. Instructions will be provided on the boat.

If you get seasick: We have ginger and Dramamine. Remember that staying active on a boat by looking around, chatting, and doing small tasks staves off nausea far better than putting your head down does.
