If you charter a sail or take your friends out for a sunset party on the bay - you've got lots of options. We can sail: Under the new Bay Bridge and check out the demoltion of the old bridge Around Treasure Island or Alcatraz Past the Embarcadero & the City of San Francisco or to Angel Island for a BBQ or hike Charters & Private Parties
Imagine opening a bottle of wine with a group of friends in the middle of San Francisco Bay. Watch the sun set, the moon rise or sail to a beautiful location for a picnic lunch. You can also sail to restaurants or Angel Island.
Sunset / Starlight Sails Generally just three or so hours from start to finish. We have plenty of time to get out into the bay, watch the sun set and the lights come up in the city and still drink some wine and have a fun time! The Bay is beautiful at night and the temperature feels about the same as the wind usually dies down as it gets dark. I love sailing at night so don't hesitate to ask for evening departure times! Learning to sail in a beautiful place just adds to the experience - and San Francisco Bay is about as gorgeous as it gets.
Captain Dan can help you to get started or to hone your skills as a skipper. Your skill level and learning style will dictate the structure of the lesson. You'll have command of the Feral and Captain Dan will be there to help. Sailing lessons are available to groups as well as individuals. Most sailing lessons take places on your own boat. Capt Dan will help you learn ideas and skills for setting up your boat for easy sailing as well as direct and excellent instruction on docking, close quarters sailing, maintenance and anything that will help you to feel more comfortable and confident on your boat. |
Preparing for your adventure1) Wear clothes. Warm clothes. Even on the sunniest days it is still chilly out on the water. It's best to wear layers (and ideally something water and wind proof). Sunglasses, gloves and hats (that don't blow off) are helpful. Please wear non-marking shoes if you have them! If you over-prepare, there's plenty of room down below to stow your extra gear.
Life Jackets are Provided. 2) Bring Snacks. Even if you just had dinner it is nice to share a bite with everyone together before we sail out. What to bring? Anything that's easy to pass around and share (not salad). Here are some ideas: sushi, brownies, cheese and crackers, deli meats, brownies, finger sandwiches, berries and fruit, brownies and brownies. Drinks BYOB. Wine is perfect for sailing. Some folks bring cocktails, juice, soda and/ or sparkling water. Again, think of something that is fun and nice to pass around. We've got plastic wine glasses, a serving tray and cutting board onboard if you need it. Things to KnowThe head or bathroom aboard Feral is called 'The Bucket.' It's an emergency bathroom - and it's better to plan ahead to use the bathrooms in the marina. Trips out into the bay are usually 3-4 hours long; as long as you don't drink too much beer, you should be fine.
You and your entire party must agree to a liability waiver before we head out. You can review the waiver here. |
